Bathing your doggo is a chore that many dread. Luckily, most people do it much too often. Bougie Puppy is a shorthair mix and is largely capable of self-cleaning. We only routinely bath him every few months and that is more than sufficient. Sometimes he cannot help playing in the mud or at the beach. We use Luvsome oatmeal soap which moisturizes and soothes the skin to keep that shiny glow.

As you might imagine, we encounter a good amount of shedding particularly in the fall and spring transitions. We have tried several different brushes but what works for us is A Kong Zoom Groom Brush. This soft rubberized brush will grip on to those loose hairs and help to collect them together. Of note, I would not recommend brushing indoors, this thing is amazing but the hair will fly! A Dudi nail clippers work best for us.

I wish I could say we are really good at brushing Rocky’s teeth but once a week is all we seem to remember. We often use a regular Reach soft toothbrush with Fresh Dental brushing gel for dogs or cats. Rocky really tolerates this very well, we just got out of the habit after his accident and jaw injury. We really haven’t had any issues with halitosis.

Nail trimming is another task that many pet owners fear. Not gonna lie, we had some wild times when we first started nail trimming. This generally involved one person to secure and another to trim. Now, a few months later, Rocky is an old pro and just lays down and waits for his Mani/Pedi (usually). We use Dudi nail clippers which seem to have plenty of precision and strength to get the job done. Precision is critical to avoid clipping into the quick with resultant pain and bleeding.

Los Gatos? You have got to be kidding.
